Isaak Walton League Philosophy is to Conserve:

  • Soil
  • Water
  • Air
  • Wildlife

The Loudoun County Chapter of the Izaak Walton League is a local non-profit, conservation chapter  of the Izaak Walton League of America, Inc. (IWLA).

We are dedicated to the promotion of the means and opportunities for educating the public to conserve, maintain, protect and restore the soil, forest, water, air, wildlife and other natural resources of the United States, in Virginia and more specifically in Loudoun County.  Further, we promote the enjoyment and wholesome utilization of those outdoor resources.

Our chapter members are dedicated outdoors people active in local conservation issues.  We maintain a private membership facility on grounds located about six miles south of Leesburg, Virginia.

Sight-In Range Closed for Construction for March 17 - 23, 2008

Monthly Membership Meetings

Come learn more about us at one of our monthly membership meetings.  They are held in the lodge house every second Monday of the month.  Call (703-555-5555) or email info@loudouniwla.org for more details.

As part of the capital improvement project it is necessary to close the Sight-In Range for the duration of the flooring project.  Weather permitting, the Sight-In Range committee will move forward with its plan to pour a concrete floor in the bench house.  We will start moving equipment and fixtures as early as March 17, 2008.  With any luck, we expect the construction work to be finished and the concrete will be hard enough that the range can be re-opened by March 23, 2008.

Arbor Day Project to coincide with Virginia's April 25, 2008 holiday celebration

First VP, John McWilliams will manage the acquisition and distribution of tree seedlings recently purchased from the Virginia Department of Forestry to select local schools and communities.  "As you well know Arbor Day is a holiday in which individuals and groups are encouraged to plant and care for trees.  This year the Loudoun County Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America will share in the wondrous celebration of this fine holiday by explaining the care of tree seedlings, awareness and importance of resource sustainability, and protection and stewardship of tree habitats.  It is our sincere wish that area families and communities will seize the moment and share the value of this fine nature holiday and important conservation lessons from this day forward", said First Vzr McWilliams. To find out how you can participate contact FirstVP@loudouniwla.org.
